It hadn’t been easy, but he’d done what he had to. He was tired.

Over the last 3 years a lot had changed. The biggest changes were: Devon selling the station to Nikki and leaving, and Brennan’s high school graduation.

And now here they were a year later; and Nikki had sold the station. Only this time the new owners weren’t going to keep any of the current employees. Jack was out of a job.

The one concession Jack had gotten was: that he could take his show “Midnight Caller” with him when he left. Which meant; that he could start it up again wherever he and Brennan ended up. So now Jack was job hunting.
